What is Life Between Weekends?
You finally have a free hour—and somehow, it’s gone before it even started.
Caught up in the everyday scramble, it can feel like we never have enough downtime. The truth is, it’s getting eviscerated: by the scroll, by chores, by the tyranny of everything we “should” be doing.
And the things we want to do—cook something new, make something, feel a little more like ourselves—keep getting pushed off.
That’s where Life Between Weekends (or LBW) comes in. It’s about uncovering and making the most of the time you already have—with simple recipes, creative projects and small rituals that make everyday life feel a little more like Saturday.
We’re not about over-optimizing or “maxxing” anything; no jam-packed schedules that send you careening toward burnout. We believe small rituals can have a bigger impact than major overhauls (and they’re more realistic to maintain). And that finding small ways to celebrate the everyday turn into a more joyful life overall.
Who Writes This Stuff? (AKA About Us)

Hi! I’m Candace Braun Davison, a writer/editor and content strategist who develops recipes and runs an Airbnb on the side, and yes, I penned that earnest manifesto above, because yes, I believe all that to my core.
I’m a bit of a human guinea pig, I suppose—I’m always down to try new things (like candle making, creating costumes for parties and baking pop culture-inspired recipes), which I tend to chronicle here. If the craft, DIY or recipe is too good to keep to myself, you’ll find it here (or PureWow, where I serve as VP of editorial content).
You’ll also see posts from my husband, Nate. He runs operations for our Airbnb and has a background in learning and career development, so I often turn to him for insights on those fronts. (I may be biased, but I also think he’s just an all-around awesome person to know.) He’s a hardcore runner and dabbles in 3-D printing and drone photography, so he’s often the voice behind those types of posts, as well as emerging tech/AI.
You’ll also find stories from our network of friends and freelancers. I love featuring new voices on the site, so if you’re interested in contributing, please reach out using the contact form below.
About Our Affiliate Content:
Our posts contain affiliate links, which mean we receive a commission from qualifying items sold through those links. They are all hand-selected by the writer. (Some items are gifted to us for free to test, though our opinions are our own.) We work with Skimlinks, Howl, ShareASale, Rakuten and Amazon Associates. Like Skimlinks, Howl, ShareASale and Rakuten, as an Amazon Associate we earn a commission from qualifying purchases. This helps fund the operation of this website.
Our Image Use Policy:
Working on a roundup or want to otherwise feature an image from our website on yours? I’m all for it. I only own the full rights to images credited to Candace Braun Davison/Nathan Davison (which includes pretty much all of my DIYs, reviews and recipes), so you can only use one of those images. And, when you do, all I ask is that you link back to the page where it appears.
Not sure how to tell if it’s my image or not? Look for the italicized photo credit underneath the first image in the story. (If all images are by Nate or me, I will put one credit under the first pic. If they vary, each image will have its proper credit.)
If you’re calling out a recipe or DIY, please don’t copy and paste the post or the full tutorial on your site. You can summarize it or list the ingredients.
Any other questions on that front? Reach out using the contact form below.
