I’ll drink cold brew all day, every day—even walking to the subway mid-blizzard in New York (something I’ve done more than once, oddly enough). And over the years, I’ve tested all kinds of methods for making the stuff, as well as all kinds of devices. Through it all, there’s one cold brew maker I swear by so much that I’ve bought it for friends, family, my house and my Airbnb in Florida: the Bodum Bean Cold Brew Coffee Maker.

This cold brew machine is essentially foolproof: You add coarse grinds to the bottom (I use about 12 ounces), fill it with water, stir it around, pop on the lid and let it sit in your fridge for at least 12 hours (or, if you’re like me, 24 to 36 hours). Then you change out the regular lid for the plunger-style lid, and plunge the grinds away from the liquid, just like you would a French press. It’s that simple.

What I Love About It:

  • It’s dishwasher-safe
  • The mesh strainer is fine enough that grinds don’t get in (a problem I’ve had with other cold brew makers)
  • It has a 12-cup capacity (aka enough for 6 grande drinks)
  • It’s affordable ($15!)

What I Wish It Had:

  • Markings on the side so you could pour in coffee grounds and fill up with water without measuring (I actually added these using vinyl labels I made on my Cricut)

Seriously, I’ve raved about it at PureWow, to coworkers, to basically anyone who will listen, just because there are so many bulky, counter space-killing machines out there that you don’t really need. Or overcomplicated ones. Or ones that are a pain to clean. Nobody has time for that.
