Study after study has shown that our judgment is typically way off when it comes to portion control. We often dramatically underestimate calories and think of a portion as being much, much larger than it actually is (prime ex: Did you know one serving of avocado is just 1/5th of the fruit? That’s basically a slice!).

We’re told to think of a serving of meat as being the size of a deck of cards and peanut butter should be about the size of a golf ball, but even then, it can be a  pain to remember all of those rules — and accurately remember how big those reference points are.
